I have the honour to inform Your
Lordship that my predecessor agreed to sell to the Land
Reclamation Company, who are the owners of Kowloon Marine
Lot 49, that portion of the seabed in front of their Lot
which is shown on the attached plan, subject to the con-
-ditions of which I enclose a copy.

The terms of the proposed lease
were advertised in the Gazette in Government Notification
No.
782 of the 24th. November, 1905, and in this notifica-
-tion it was stated that the lease would be granted for a
term of 75 years to be computed from the 18th. day of
September, 1899, with the option of renewal for one further
term of 75 years at a reassessed Crown Rent.

It is, however, provided by
Section 3 of Ordinance 15 of 1901 that such a lease can be
granted for 75 years only, unless a longer term is
